In issue #1, we were introduced to Sam Alexander, a boy from a small town, whose father is an alcoholic janitor. For Sam's whole life, his father had told stories about The Nova Corp, a galactic military force. While Sam believes his father is full of it, in this issue, Sam Alexander wakes up in the hospital to find none other than Gamora and Rocket Raccoon staring back at him.
I bought this issue yesterday, and although I am definitely missing Richard Rider as Nova, I am not hating the direction that this series is going in. It's fun, and a great starting point for people who know absolutely nothing about Marvel Cosmic.
Just don't call him a raccoon.
