Guardians film taking place on Knowhere? Set in present-day?

According to the website JoBlo, in the upcoming film adaptation of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, the 'Guardians' will be stationed out of Knowhere, an intergalactic space-station run by a talking, telekinetic dog named Cosmo. Although the article does not mention the lovable canine, one can only hope that he will make an appearance. For those of you who don't know, Knowhere was featured prominently in the 2008 run of the comics. This could possibly mean that the filmmakers are primarily drawing inspiration from the Abnett/Lanning run.

The article also states that Guardians of the Galaxy will take during the same time as The Avengers, not in the future, as previously reported.

Lastly, JoBlo also claims that Ronan the Accuser will in fact be the film's lead villain, with Thanos playing a large role in the grand scheme of the story. Nothing new there. What do you think about this news? Does it sound legit? Or is it just pure speculation? Drop a comment below.

  1. I hope this means Cosmo will show up. Mainstream audiences may have enough trouble buying a talking raccoon tho.
