Steve McNiven signs onto Guardians film

On the Q&A page of issue three of the Guardians of the Galaxy comic, Senior Editor, Stephen Wacker, addressed a complaint about artist Steve McNiven's new design of Star-Lord's armor. In his response, Wacker had this to say:

"Personally, I'm a fan of Steve M's design work (as are the folks working on the GOTG movie considering he's off to work on some of the film designs after this issue) and think he did a good job of finding something that paid a subtle homage to the classic look, but was still fresh and new."

Many people were wondering about McNiven's absence past issue three, but this confirms it was because of his preoccupation with working on the film. Does this mean that the film's character design will be close or identical to the current run of comics? Only time will tell, but let's hope that Star-Lord's helmet at least makes an appearance.
