The Waverley Borough Council website has recieved a few documents which act as proposal forms. One of the documents states, "In summary, the proposal involves the preparation of land for the creation of a film set. The works will involve soil removal to created the impression of an 'alien spaceship crash'." The same document goes on to say that the land of Tilsey Farm will be occupied by the film set for six weeks, starting at the end of July, but that filming on the set will only last one day on August 23rd. The proposal also calls for wind machines, white smoke, LPG fire, black smoke, and pyrotechnics.
The coolest part of this is that they are calling the set 'Yondu's Crash'. Part of me thinks that the scene in question could be something else though. Anyone who has read Star-Lord's origin knows that his father, J'son of Spartax, crash landed into the countryside of Meredith Quill's land. The two of them fell in love and had a baby: Peter Quill. This could very well be that crash, with the name "Yondu's Crash" to throw people off, but that's just pure speculation.
Anyways, check out the picture of the plans that were submitted to the council, as well as pictures of the proposed filming location below.

AWESOOOOOME
ReplyDeleteYes it issssss.
DeleteI would love if they opened the film with the plot of Guardians 0.1 issue. That is one of my favourite comics ever.
ReplyDeleteMe too. When I was reading, I was thinking, "How awesome would this be as the beginning of the movie?" Let's hope that that was the plan all along.
DeleteI think you are more likely to see those events in flashback scenes than the start of the movie...assuming what they said is true (about the team having been formed already anyways)
ReplyDeleteI still think the crash could be Yondu's ship. Perhaps he crashes after traveling back in time.
That's true. What do you think of Michael Rooker as Yondu?
DeleteI think Michael Rooker will do a great job...he's not the type of person i would have envisioned for the role at first but that's fine people are more likely to respond to the character if he's badass
DeletePerhaps he takes a role similar to Starhawk if he travels back in time. Or maybe the name of the scene is to avoid spoilers about Quill's father crash landing.
DeleteEither way, I'll be happy.
DeleteAnyone interested - they were filming there last night and possibly over the next few days!
ReplyDeleteHave you been to the set or seen it?
