Excuse my terrible pun for a title, but we've heard Hooked On A Feeling by Blue Swede from the SDCC trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy. But what other songs might we find on the soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy?
We want to know what songs you speculate could be accompanying our heroes on their first big screen adventure. What songs would you like to hear? What songs would you choose for the 'themes' of the characters? What song should accompany our Guardians into battle? Let us know in the comments below!

I can see these songs being played when introducing the characters. Maybe mid-fight for some of them.
The Team's song - Bad Company by Five Finger Death Punch (I'd like to say, I prefer for original, but the FFDP has a little more punch to it, and I think it'd fit the feel of the movie more.)
I'd like to see some Theory of a Deadman, Black Stone Cherry, and Slash with Myles Kennedy on there. While I'd love some classical music occasionally, I think the bar-brawl kind of fights need more of a Rock feel to then. Of course, you need some classic rock, I'm partial to ZZ Top. Something blues-y. Less AC/DC, that's Iron Man's thing.
Welcome to the Jungle for Groot would be the best thing about that movie. haha. Awesome ideas all around.
DeletePersonally, I'd love for Muse to do the whole soundtrack to Guardians. Knights of Cydonia is precisely what I think of when I read my GotG comics. But if I had to pick out some particular tracks...
ReplyDeleteFor a main theme, I could just imagine the gang walking down some corridor in slow motion to an instrumental of Elbow's "Grounds for Divorce". Rocket's theme has to be pure ass-kicking space music... Something by Pendulum, perhaps? For some reason I associate Gamora with Latin... Rodrigo y Gabriela's "Diablo Rojo" comes to mind. Quill? "20th Century Boy" by T-Rex, just for its sheer flamboyance. Drax I dunno... I see him taking someone down to the sound of "Warrior's Dance" by the Prodigy. Groot is tough... "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes springs to mind, but I dunno why...
Intersperse with big Williams-esque space symphonies and arse-kicking anthems a la Tarantino.
I could definitely dig some Rodrigo y Gabriela for Gamora. Originally I was leaning towards something like Puscifer for her, but I think I like your idea better. Especially if you could time the fight with the music. And James has already said that they play the score while filming, so that wouldn't be that far fetched. Very cool ideas.
