Guardians of the Galaxy News Roundup: 9/17/13

It's been a slow couple of weeks for Guardians of the Galaxy news. For that reason, we've created for updates that just aren't big enough to report on their own.

*All About Bricks is reporting that next July, Marvel and LEGO will be releasing a Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO set, just in time for the movie. Although this is just a rumor, it seems extremely likely that Marvel would include the Guardians in their new Super Heroes lineup.

*With LEGO launching Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel is releasing LEGO variant covers for many of their different titles. The image to the left is the LEGO variant cover for Guardians of the Galaxy #7.

*Benicio Del Toro recently sat down with French Magazine Les Inrockuptibles and talked a little bit about his role as The Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy. In the interview, he admitted, "My character is named The Collector, I have never heard of him so I recently started researching him."

*On director James Gunn's Formspring, he answered a couple of questions about casting rumors. When asked about the IMDB cast page, he said:
"IMDB is not always correct. Even right now I believe it contains misinformation. A complete cast list will not be released until closer before release- and we are not currently releasing a list of all the characters in the film. That said, Stephen Blackehart and my brother Sean are in the film but my good friend Steve Agee is unfortunately not. Although he would make a great Thanos (not really)."
That's all, folks. Nothing too exciting. That being said, we are working hard to bring you big stories, so make sure to keep checking back for all your latest Guardians news! Also, feel free to drop a comment below.

  2. I love the idea of the Lego variants, but I'm really disappointed with the GotG one. Would've been awesome to actually have the Guardians on there.

    1. Yea, I was disapointed too. Iron Man is NOT a Guardian. He's an Avenger!
