Hallmark signs Licensing Deal for Guardians of the Galaxy

Disney has announced that Hallmark and Marvel are teaming up for the release of exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise. The deal includes "gift and party accessories, greeting cards, wrapping paper, and ornaments."

Can we expect to see a Santa Groot ornament in the future? How about a "get well soon or else" card with Rocket Raccoon pointing a gun on the front. Maybe even some Gamora-green wrapping paper. One can only hope so.

All joking aside, this is a big step for the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and it shows that Marvel is counting on the film to be a major success. The full press release is after the jump!

The product line will introduce gift and party accessories including greeting cards, wrapping paper and ornaments featuring the film's intergalactic characters Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon.

Hallmark joins an ever expanding list of industry leaders lining up to create products based on this newest Marvel film franchise including Hasbro, Disguise, C-Life, Mad Engine and Sideshow Collectibles.
