Guardians of the Galaxy Movie News Roundup: 10/2/13

Greetings Galaxians! Cam the Man here (don't call me that)! I've been out of commission for the past few days, so I'm back with some (already dated) news! Yay! Today, we've got some quotes from director James Gunn, future movie star Chris Pratt, and a couple of set pictures (albeit, not very great ones). Here we go!

James Gunn is better than you.
  • On his Formspring page, director James Gunn talked a little bit about how Lee Pace got the role of Ronan the Accuser. "He auditioned for both [Star-Lord and Ronan], but it was his audition for Star-Lord that made me think he might be a good Ronan. And, boy, do I love him in this movie, both on and off screen."
  • Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) took to Twitter today to update fans on the Guardians of the Galaxy shooting schedule. "Today we are about 92% complete with principal photography on Guardians of the Galaxy."
  • Apparently, one of the scenes for Guardians took a while to shoot. James Gunn had this to say on his Twitter: "We shot 63,000 feet of film Saturday. 11 1/2 hours of film. One scene. We're in for some long dailies tonight!"
  • Talking about his cast members' performances, James Gunn said, "Today the performances of Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana & Sean Gunn made me tear up. From my heart, they are all amazing." He also gave a shout out to the movie's supporting cast, also calling them "amazing." These cast members included Marama Corlett, Alexis Rodney, Melia Kreiling, Gregg Henry, and Spencer Wilding.
  • Lastly, James Gunn posted the following picture from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy on his Instagram. It is a picture of one of Zoe Saldana's chairs on the set. I'm sure she had better chairs that that to sit in too.

Well, that's all folks. Did any of these quotes interest you? If so, drop us a comment below so we can talk about it with you.

  2. So I'm guessing Bradley Cooper will do RR voice-work against the scenes already shot by the actors? It'll be interesting to see how they do that.

    1. I'm guessing that Sean Gunn is standing in for Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, since there was a rumor on the set that Sean Gunn would be playing Rocket.

  3. Hmmm.... I had been wondering what Sean will be doing for this.
