Guardians of the Galaxy Movie News Roundup: 10/9/13

Greetings Galaxians (it hasn't caught on yet)! Yesterday was a crazy day for Raccoonatics (rhymes with lunatics). Yesterday, we saw a funny little Rocket Raccoon video from Marvel, as well as confirmation that Rocket is now an American. Just when you thought you couldn't handle anymore news, I'm here with a few more tidbits (nothing too juicy). This week, we've got a few quotes from cast and crew of Guardians of the Galaxy film. Let's get to it!

  • Actor Michael Rooker talked a little bit about his role of Yondu with Total Film. In the interview, Mr. Rooker said, "I tell people in these Q&As or at conventions that Merle has moved on to a better place! Marvel heaven y’all! I love the role. My role as Yondu is killer, man. It’s a killer role. I’m having a great time."

  • Actors Neil Dynamix and Ralph Ineson took to Twitter to celebrate their minor roles as Yondu's co-pilots in a space battle. Mr. Dynamix said, "Mad week - Going into battle with aliens co-piloting Yondu's spaceship with [Ralph Ineson] - I didn't have anything else to do on a Wednesday!" before stating, "Been a privilege to have been a ravager pilot on [Guardians of the Galaxy]." Mr. Ineson also talked about his experience, stating, "Bucket list a bit shorter after filming 'Guardians of the Galaxy', piloted a spaceship in a dogfight..." To the right is a picture of the two men, presumably on the set:

  •  Director James Gunn once again took to his Formspring page to answer fan's questions. When asked about his method of filming to the musical score by Tyler Bates, Gunn said, "It's not the first time I've done it, but it has so far worked out amazingly well."

With filming wrapping up towards the end of this week, there have been rumblings that a Guardians of the Galaxy trailer will be attatched to Thor: The Dark World. Only time will tell. What do you think of the quotes above? Drop us a comment below! That's all for now. Keep your guard up, Galaxians!

  1. So these guys are ravager pilots working with Yondu. Hmmmm...maybe Yondu turns out to be a villain.

    1. I hadn't even thought of that. I hope that's not the case.

  2. If there isn't a trailer attached to THOR:TDW I will be very disappointed. We got 10 months to go!

    1. If they play a GOTG trailer at the beginning of Thor TDW, I will jump out of my seat! It would make sense to start marketing this one early.

    1. Yeah, we saw it but were hesitant to post it since it may not be accurate. I mentioned it briefly at the end of this article.

    2. Hopefully it is. A two and a half minute trailer would be very nice!

  4. I think the report of the GOTG trailer with "THOR 2" may be true. The site's history of scoops is sketchy at best, but Trailer Park does actually exist, and GOTG had a very good-looking trailer for SDCC after shooting for only 14 days, so they could easily cut some of the presentation into a trailer by that time.
