-------------- OUT NOW --------------
Written by Kelly Sue Deconnick
This new series follows the adventures of Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, as she travels the galaxy. In this issue, Carol teams up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, a team-up that will last the next couple of issues. Just a thought: With talk of Carol Danvers appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron, could we possibly see her in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie as well?

That's all for this week. Will you be picking up Captain Marvel #2 for the Guardians of the Galaxy appearance? Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
I love Carol, so I'll definitely check this series out. Kind of miss her old look/codename, but ah well.
ReplyDeleteI'll take Phyla-Vell over Carol Danvers any day of the week.
ReplyDeleteHello Superboy Prime.
DeleteTHIS. THIS RIGHT HERE.
DeleteAgreed. I love Carol Danvers, but Martyr was freakin' AWESOME.
I'm okay with Carol being in space since the first Captain Marvel was a space hero.
ReplyDeleteI like Carol's new look. It assures her role as a superhero and not a female knock off.
ReplyDeleteThis issue wasn't terrible, despite Rocket once against insisting he's not a raccoon. The bit between him and the cat was funny, but felt a bit forced.
ReplyDeleteI dig Carol a lot.
Where's Angela? DC does enough of the "oh, this issue actually falls 4 months ago, but you're getting the story now" crap, I really hope this isn't the same thing. But if it's not... WHERE'S ANGELA?
Something I noticed here, and once before in the main run, sometimes Drax slips into this "Drax smash" kind of caveman talk. Third person. Not a fan. Not sure what's up with that.
Drax used to be written back in older time as an absolute sub-intellectual brute, with a lot of the "Drax don't know Drax's own strength..." kinda dialogue. Occasionally writers still use that If they aren't familiar with how he is a written in modern 'Guardians'
DeleteYeah, I'm loving Angela so far, so I'm right there with you.
DeleteYeah, Jayce, that was how he originally spoke, then they changed it, then they changed it back, and with the big Annihilation event they brought him back and he stopped speaking that way. He hasn't really spoke that way since, until Vol3 rolled around, and suddenly it comes and goes. I'm not impressed. I like him being an intelligent killer. More Riddick than Hulk. I don't get why it's changed and comes and goes and... the whole mess. I just don't care for it.
