Glenn Close and John C. Reilly Join Nova Corp?

According to Deadline, veteran actor Glenn Close has joined the cast of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy as the head of the Nova Corp. If this is true, this may be our first confirmation that the Nova Corp will indeed be featured in the Guardians of the Galaxy film. While the website HitFix have reported that dramatic comedy actor John C. Reilly will also be featured in Guardians of the Galaxy as a member of the Nova Corp, we have heard no such confirmation from Marvel. The same article by HitFix reports that Michael Rooker's character Yondu will be a villian, describing him as a "space-pirate". In the comics, Yondu was a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, 3000 years in the future, and was a good guy. If this report is true, then James Gunn and Marvel are switching things up for the movie. I highly doubt, however, that this report is 100% true. At this point, not much is known until Marvel confirms or denies these rumors.

What do you think of Glenn Close and John C. Reilly being cast? If it's true, do you like the casting decisions?

  1. I know that it should all be taken with a grain of salt, but the recent cast announcements on this movie are ridiculous. In one week we've got Glenn Close, John C Reilly, Karen Gillian, and Benicio del Toro. Unbelievable. Is it possible that this project has become TOO ambitious?
