John C. Reilly is Rhomann Dey

It has been a confusing time for those of us trying to keep up with Guardians of the Galaxy casting news. The website Deadline initially reported that Step Brothers star John C. Reilly had been cast as Kree Warrior, Ronan the Accuser. However, Deadline's report was not exactly correct. Turns out Reilly was cast as Nova Prime, Rhomann Dey.

For those of you who don't know, Nova Corps is somewhat of an intergalactic police force. Reilly's character, Rhomann Dey was the last surviving member of the Nova Corps when their home planet, Xander, was attacked by a warlord named Zorr. Rhomann Dey eventually passed the torch to the Nova we all know and love, Richard Rider.

So what does this mean for the movie? Well, if I had to guess, I would say that Marvel is setting up for a Nova movie with Richard Rider as their lead character. This would be a smart move on Marvel's part, due to Nova's popularity within fans of cosmic Marvel titles. Also, Nova played a large role and was strongly connected to the Guardians characters during the Annihilation series, even being Gamora's lover.

What do you think? Would you like to see Richard Rider make an appearance? Wht do you think of John C. Reilly's casting? Drop a comment below.
