Confirmed: Bradley Cooper IS Rocket Raccoon!

Marvel just posted this on their site:
"Academy Award-nominated actor Bradley Cooper has officially joined the cast of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," lending his voice to the fan-favorite raccoon that will join Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Drax (Dave Bautista) on their epic adventure."
Well, there you have it. All of the rumors were true. Bradley Cooper, of Silver Linings Playbook and The Hangover will be playing our Rocket. It is unknown whether he will using his regular accent or putting on a British accent, but I'd probably guess the former, rather than the latter. Bradley Cooper has great comedic timing and has also shined in dramatic roles. Here's to hoping he can capture Rocket's essence and give the character a much needed believability.

In case you didn't notice, our poll on the right hand side of the page is asking the question, 'What do you think of Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon?' Make sure to take the poll and drop a comment below and let us know what you think!!!

  1. I am not happy with this decision, not one bit.
It feels like they're going against everything they said about "buggs bunny in space" cause this is exactly what it feels like. But I'm not gonna doubt Marvel, not again.

    1. I don't know. I saw Silver Linings Playbook and Bradley Cooper has some acting chops. I think he will do a good job. The only question for me is, will he do a great job?

    2. Oh don't get me wrong I think Bradley is future Oscar tier actor. The Silver Linings Playbook is brilliant. But Rocket has to have a cockney accent, I probably would have shunned any American actor. I don't know I probably just don't like change.

    3. The Cockney accent, for me, isn't essential. It's just what I'm accustomed to hearing so far. I think after seeing the movie 10000x, I'll get used to hearing Cooper's voice.

    4. I hope Cooper does a good enough job to make it stick. I'll be willing to get rid of the cockney accent in due time.

    5. Haha, it's gonna be hard for all of us to get used to. Hearing Rocket's voice in Ultimate Spider-Man annoyed me big time.

    6. Oh god, don't remind me...

  2. I'm going to take this as a positive. I wanted someone with real voice acting talent and not a Hollywood name. However Bradly Cooper is hot property right now. He wouldn't sign his name to something that he/his agent didn't think would be a good career move. Hopefully this suggests that Marvel have something that the big names want to be apart of.

    1. I agree. With all the great actors who have signed onto this project, the script must be really good, or either everybody wants to be in a Marvel movie, no matter what it is.

  3. Yep. I sent a message when I saw this pop up on Twitter. I'm still in the same position I was when it was a rumor, not entirely sure what to think. But I've approved of the decisions surrounding this movie so far, so I think Mr. Cooper will do a great job.

  4. It's not a decision that I completely understand, beyond the "big name" part. Yes, I like Cooper. He had a TV show for a while that my wife and I loved. But his voice isn't one I would've chosen for this role. Rocket is just seethes snarky and sarcastic... can Cooper do that? I don't know that he CAN'T, he's just not an obviously choice for me. So I'm not going to say it's bad, I'm just going to trust in Marvel Studios, which haven't steered us wrong since Iron Man started, and wait and see what happens. The role is important to James Gunn, who I think really gets the character. He wouldn't let the role go to someone he didn't trust to do it. So I have to just assume they know something we don't.

Can I have my movie now?! I'm gonna induce a coma. Wake me when it's Guardians time.

    1. Haha, maybe James Gunn will take notice of all the hard work we put into this site and give us an early screening! Hey...I can dream, right?

    2. Wouldn't that be awesome? Hey, Mr. Gunn, I'm Rocket's #1 fan, just FYI. Hehheh.

    3. My head would explode from the awesome. That's a mighty good dream you got there. I think I'll borrow it.

  5. bradley cooper can do impersonations and put on different accents, if Gunn wants a british accent, he can do it

  6. Well, there goes my number one choice for Nova/Richard Rider. But, Cooper is a fantastic actor, and one that I for one am very happy to see become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, regardless of what role it may be with. He will make a fine Raccoon in my opinion.
