There's been some talk over the past few days of Guardians of the Galaxy becoming a film franchise, due to some comments that Michael Rooker made at DragonCon over the weekend. While the future is undeniably unclear, we'd like to know what you guys and gals think.

First off cool site. I needed a place to get my Gotg fixxxx. Second, you should do a poll about whether Cosmo will be in the movie or not.
ReplyDeleteLets hope it does....and..... somehow 20th Century Fox lose the rights to Silver Surfer (cat in hells chance unfortunately). Phase 3 sees the start of the Annihilation events which leads into Thanos Imperative.

Silver Surfer (Origin story and has inner conflict being Herald for Galactus and saving worlds during start of annihilation wave)
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - (introduce the Inhumans? or maybe own movie? set up Thanos for phase4?)
If Marvel can successfully launch a Cosmic Marvel movie series, I would freak out. Unfortunately, they would probably have to do it without Silver Surfer, which is a depressing thought.
DeleteI think we need more build up and a chance for people not familiar with the comics to get attached to characters before we throw them into Annihilation. Maybe GotG2 needs to introduce Silver Surfer, Nova, and the InHumans. Then Nova, Silver Surfer, Inhumans and GotG3 could feature Annihilation, and people are more attached to those characters as they're brought so low. You do that too soon, destroy the Corps and everyone will go "And? So?" But if you were to do it that way, what story would we stick in between GotG2 and 3? What would we use to introduce the rest of the Cosmic Universe?

DeleteNova and Silver Surfer in a movie together would blow my mind. Bring in Adam Warlock and Quasar.....
Then throw em all in a movie(s) with the Guardians to battle Thanos.
I would do it like this:
DeletePhase Two: GotG 1 (Introduces Nova Corps)
Phase Three: GotG 2 (Introduces Adam Warlock and by this time Nova Corps will be allies to the Guardians)
Phase Three: Avengers 3 (Thanos/Infinity Gauntlet Storyline featuring Adam Warlock and The Guardians)
Phase Four: Nova - Introduces us to Richard Rider. 30 minutes into the movie, the Nova Corps are destroyed by the....ANNIHILATION WAVE! Drax, Richard Rider, and Mantis (as a replacement for Cammi) set out to stop the Wave.

Deletewell as i see it Nova corps is being introduced and set up in GOTG. To have a Richard Rider/Nova movie you need to kill off Nova Corps.
