Francesco Francavilla, the artist for upcoming
Guardians of the Galaxy issues #8-9, has released a few pieces of artwork from the series. The issues will tie in with Marvel's ongoing event series,
Infinity, pushing the Guardians into protecting the Earth from Thanos. Francavilla will only be staying on for two issues, but personally, I wish he'd do more.
Francesco Francavilla has a very distinct art-style, bordering on pulp comics from the past. The Rocket Raccoon piece to the left is art from the upcoming issues. Check out the rest of them after the jump.
I am a HUGE fan of Francavilla. I have been since I read Zorro a few years back. Great art all around. Good to see he's getting lots of work.
ReplyDeleteI could see how his work wouldn't work for certain stories, but I can't wait to see what he does with Guardians of the Galaxy. The art we've seen so far has been very stylistic and I love it when artists have a distinct quality.
