Hey, Cameron, for your poll this week, can you have it be "Will Guardians Stay at #1 For All of August?" And next week's poll be "What Do You Think of All the GOTG Character Posters?" Please reply to me, Cameron. Thanks.
This poster looks great, but kinda wished Rocket and Groot get personal poster each. Now I hope the next one will have Gamora and Drax in one poster. Hope we'll have one for the villains too.
I'd love to see Gemma in a role like that, I've only seen her play characters with some innocence to them, so seeing her in a role like Gamora would be a lot of fun.
Wow, I know I said I wanted a Gamora and Drax combo... but the new Gamora solo looks amazing! You can immediately sense an assassin vibe from Zoe Saldana, something you can't sense from her in her previous roles. This means Drax and Quill is coming soon. Will we get the villains? Fingers crossed....
She's definitely got a much more sinister feel to her than I've seen anywhere else. I think it's that smirk. Not only is she dangerous, but she knows it, and likes it.
I'm slightly disappointed that Star-Lord isn't wearing the mask in his as it was always my favourite one from the comics. But, they all still look awesome. The Drax one, especially.
I expected it, if you look at most of the Iron Man/Avengers posters, you get a lot of shots of Tony without his mask, because they want to promote the actor and give him as much face-time, more so, than he gets mask-time. I'd love to see one with the mask, but this was what the studio was going to produce.
I am, however, very very happy we got another poster with that kick-ass long coat.
This is very true. Plus, Chris Pratt is a great actor and as he is still largely unknown, it should provide him with some great exposure, which he more than deserves. The coat definitely kicks tons of ass.
These posters are all great, but the Star-Lord is a tad disappointing. It's exactly the same pose as the big poster, with different "rays" emitting from the gun. Agree the mask would have been a nice addition...
That too, is very true, I would've liked to have seen an entirely unique poster for him. Also, is it just me, or is the Milano in that picture twice? Front shot on the left and back shot on the right?
After reviewing these posters again, I step back and "Marvel" at the idea that this movie is actually happening....with such a great vibe!!! I've been a comic fan since the mid 60's, but I must confess I was blind to the Guardians until the Annihilation war arc. I even had stated that the 2nd generation Star-Lord comic - the one from the 90's that was not Quill - was some of the worst comic art ever. But I fell in love, first with the re-imagined Drax, and then with the whole Guardians crew that is now coming to the big screen. There was a time when Disney's acquisition of Marvel made me fear the worst ( I was fresh on the heels of their marketing ruination of the marvelous "John Carter" flick), but now they are really kickin' it! Get the kids excited in these incredible story lines, get them intrigued and excited - get them to read and comprehend their heroes exploits. Keep bringin' it!!! (...and pass me another of those Steel Reserve BLK Berrys...willya?) Excelsior, Stan!!!
Love this poster! Rocket Raccoon and Groot will be the reason why Guardians will be Marvel's next billion dollar hit!

...I will have this poster framed in my living room. No doubt at all.
ReplyDeleteGamora looks amazing and hot.
ReplyDeleteGreen woman are my weakness. Zoe looks incredible.
ReplyDeleteI love Zoe, and I think she'll do a GREAT job. That said, I still say my dream Gamora is Gemma Arterton.

DeleteI love Gemma! Have had a cruah on her ever since Prince of Persia. She was a baddass in Hanzel and Gretel
DeleteYeah, I always pictured her or Olivia Wilde. Still, after seeing Zoe in "Columbiana", I can most definitely see why they cast her.
