BOX OFFICE: Guardians Of The Galaxy Scores Highest Thursday Opening Of 2014

By Garret Watts
"I am Groot!" It certainly looked like a gamble from the very beginning, but Marvel's latest release Guardians of the Galaxy has the box office in the bag, as the opening night scored $11.2 Million, beating out Marvel's other release this year, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Fox's X-Men: Days Of Future Past. This is very surprising for a first film, so it seems clear that Marvel isn't done with the franchise yet, as they've already announced a sequel. The film is in theaters now, so will you be watching? Let us know in the usual place!

  1. I knew Guardians would do gangbusters. Such a great film with an awesome marketing campaign.

  2. Guardians will gross over $100.5 or $105 million dollars in its opening weekend after it's record-breaking debut. And, if it does, then, two things: it'll have a chance to become Marvel's next worldwide billion dollar hit and it'll break the 2014 opening record of Transformers 4 and if it does I'm gonna say this: MICHAEL BAY CAN SUCK IT!
