rocket is my spirit animal
ReplyDeletehaha love it.
DeleteIt lived up to two years of hype. Absolutely the best movies I've seen all year.
ReplyDeletecompletely agree!
DeleteFantastic movie, at least on par with The Avengers. I thought they did justice to the DnA run cosmic run. Also, based on the post credits scene I am optimistic about the future appearance of Adam Warlock.
ReplyDeleteHow do you mean? Did I miss something in the post credits scene? All I saw was the Collector, Cosmo and Howard the Duck.
DeleteI thought I caught a glimpse of an opened cocoon (the one from Thor 2). Was I just seeing things?
DeleteYou may have Jeff! That would be awesome if true.
Deletereally? I hope youre right!
DeleteI love how it makes you feel so warm and gooey inside. Such a feel good film. Impossible to not like any of the Guardians. WE ARE GROOT! :'-(
ReplyDelete'We are Groot' could have easily been a cheesy line, but within the context of the movie, it was so heartwarming.
DeleteThe movie was funny, witty and visually aesthetic beyond description. My favorite scenes were when Quill left the ship for Gamora and Groot's salvation if the team. We are Groot!!
ReplyDeleteYea that was a great scene. Really showed how heroic Star-lord is.
DeleteFlarkin' loved it!!! My new favourite movie EVER! Gunn/Marvel nailed the tone and humor masterfully. This generation's Star Wars!
ReplyDeleteIt might be my favorite movie ever too. Hard to say yet.
DeleteBring on GotG 2, Nova, Quasar, Bill, Warlock! And how are we not going to see an Avengers/Guardians cross over? Either as Avengers 3 or simple Marvel's The Infinity Gauntlet or The Thanos Imperative!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes to all of those characters!
DeleteI think I must be the only one that is REALLY sceptical of an Avengers/GOTG crossover. I cant see the guardians in any other hands than James Gunn. Id settle for the Infinity gauntlet/Thanos storyline in a GOTG movie (by Gunn) with some Avengers in it. Not sure how it would work otherwise. What made this GOTG movie so special were James' quirkiness/wit/dialogue/characters.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I found it rather funny that that big gun Rocket carries everywhere? He never actually fires it! Not once. He just shoots that magic little lightning ball out of it at the start.
ReplyDeletePlus if you discount that, he only actually shoots one time in the entire movie. Kind of funny that.
That said, Guardians was great! I noticed a lot of stuff from the trailers was changed/cut, so I wonder what kind of scenes we'll see on the DVD release.
We had better get a director's cut of the film. Uncut, uncensored. I'd pay top dollar for that.
DeleteHe shoots more than once..
ReplyDelete1) at Pete
2) Kiln robots
3) Yondu's ship (hilarious)
4) Dark Aster
5) Sakaarian ships
Plus he makes the weapon Pete fires at Ronan and the weapon Drax fires at Ronan
I mentioned those first two. All the rest were shooting from a ship, I had meant firing personal weaponry.
DeleteI don't think Rocket cares what hes firing as long as hes blowing shit up! :)
Delete:D Nor do I, I just thought it was funny was all.
ReplyDeleteWhat I found really interesting about the movie is how SHORT and FAST it seems. Like, it's so consistently interesting and engaging that it just seemed to fly by. Most movies I find myself looking at my watch 50~75% of the way through the movie, and I found myself doing the same thing while watching GotG but not because I was wondering when it would be done but rather because I was hoping it was earlier in the movie than I thought it was. I didn't want it to end.
Everyone I know who has seen it says the same thing. didn't want it to end!
