Guardians of the Galaxy @ Comic-Con 2013

Marvel Studios just held their panel in Hall H at this years' San Diego Comic-Con. After previewing new footage from Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel surprised the crowd by bringing out the Guardians of the Galaxy cast and director James Gunn. On the panel was Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillen, Benicio Del Toro, and new addition Djimon Honsou, who was announced to play Kree warrior, Korath the Pursuer.

Karen Gillen bald for Nebula
Highlights of the panel included Chris Pratt describing Star-Lord as a guy who "lives in space and makes out with hot alien chicks," Karen Gillen taking off a wig to reveal that she is now bald, and Dave Bautista explaining his passion for the role of Drax.

After the panel, Marvel showed a scene from the movie. Below is a rough description of the footage:

Chris Pratt as Star-Lord is taken prisoner by the Nova Corps. As he is being detained, a Nova officer takes his earbuds out and listens to them, which makes Peter Quill irritated. John C. Reilly is revealed as Nova Prime, Rhomann Dey. Dey does a role call of the prisoners as the camera scrolls through each Guardian locked in a cell. Dave Bautista as Drax is shown, then Zoe Saldana as Gamora, who is described as Thanos' adopted daughter. Rocket Raccoon is showed next. His voice is not heard but he spits as his name is called. Then, super-tall Groot's name is called as he leans down into the camera's view. Lastly, Star-Lord is shown as he flips off his arresters. Rhomann Dey simply says, "They call themselves Guardians of the Galaxy." The guard behind Dey says, "what a bunch of a**holes." Cut to logo.

Sounds pretty funny. Marvel does not plan to release the footage officially but who knows if anyone in the crowd was taping it. We may see it appear in due time. Still no word on who is playing Rocket or Groot, but one can expect that Disney may announce it at D23. That's all folks! Do you have any questions or comments about the panel? Drop us a line below!
